I think that is a Beer Barge 19. Put all six of those guys on the roof and then see what happens when big wake hits it. Who needs a pfd?

They are preparing to drown, with their flies open. That is a scene from the finals in the Darwin Awards.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Re: What Boat And Why

somemight find a 10-12' kayak perfect!.....no?!?!?......

then how about a 16' ski boat, with 400 ponies. you could water ski your way around the globe etc..........ummmmm.....no AGAIN! wow.......

oh oh oh oh I know! a one of them mac 26 thing a ma bobs or a Hunter Edge! should work great! lots o HP to motor at planing speed when there is no wind, you can water ski behind it, along with when the wind is up, you can sail it! a little of everything!.......

NO!.......AGAIN!....dang it man! or is that DANG IT WOMEN?!?!?!?!

boy o boy! one would think that choosing a boat would be real simple like eh! Nope, not that simple!

Best if you have the funds, hire some dude in warshtaxington that supposidly sings, but can design a boat reasonably well, and have someone build said boat! then you can have what ever you want within your budget!

Yep, that is my story, and I am a sticken to it!

Marty

She drives me boat,
I drives me dinghy!

Re: What Boat And Why

For me? I don't really care. All boats are connected to a part inside of me that says. "I want a boat." Just something that will get me out on the water. The real fun and enjoyment, as I see it, is knowing that you and only you can get the full potential out of that boat. It's not easy and I am certain that most of you would fall woefully short. That's not important. The important part is that you would TRY to get the most out of your craft. And in that really hard trying there woul be some satisfaction.

And for the record:
I only sing when I am drunk and I am sure that my audience is also drunk. God did not bless me with a pleasant voice full of mellifulous overtones.
My voice is tonal challenged and raspy at its finest moments. But, as I tell the 5th graders I work with, "We are after quantity here not quality."
I can belt out a number of tunes. When I am drunk. I only hope you are drunk when you hear them.

Re: What Boat And Why

If I trip over a quarter million dollars, I'll get a big cat. Catanas look great and I've seen some truly fantastic cats by smaller builders. If I trip over a hundred thousand I'll buy a new dinghy and keep cruising our Vagabond Landfall 39.
Why, well, the big cat, Capt Aaron already summarized that nicely. My boat, because she'll take anything within reason that the ocean can dish out, She's beautiful, she's the right size, and I know her and love her. And I don't like moving.

Re: What Boat And Why

Yeah, you are spot on with the Norstar's. Kelly Peterson 44 -awesome although I dismissed it from my shortlist as it's getting long in the tooth.

I'm closing on a Nordic 44 next week.
