Any comments on the Krogen 38'' cutter? Quality of workmanship, sailing characteristics; how do those tandem center boards work? etc

I posted a similar question about this boat a couple of years back (has it really been that long?) and received a reply from manateee_gene. He had a friend with a Krogen, who had since passed away. His opinion was that it is an excellent boat that would take you anywhere. You might try e-mailing manateee_gene. I have not pursued this very interesting boat further because it exceeds my budget.

When we first started looking, I did some research on the Krogen. I found a surveyor who was highly recommended by several sailor that I know. The surveyor indicated that he had surveyed 3 Krogens and had nothing but praise for their construction. His remarks lead us to make a 10 drive to look at one.

Ultimately, we determined that it was not the boat for us, but that was based on our personal wants/likes, not their build quality or sailing characteristics.

As relates to how they sail: we read/heard mixed reviews.
