What are my options?

OK this is my situation. I live in West Palm Beach Florida and dream of cruising to the Bahamas on three or four day trips. Now I don''t know anything about sailing yet, I would like to buy a trailable sailboat with in the next year. I need to know what kind of boat should I be looking for. I need to mention that I would like to do it under $12,000. So can you guys give me some options?
