Choate 41

I''ve just purchased a Choate 41. She sails beautifully. However I''d like to get a little history on the design and manufacturer of this beauty. Any info or if you know of any sites to visit would be gratefully appreciated

I just tripped on your 2004 note saying that you just purchased Kydaka, thought I should reply!
I used to own her, bought from Sandy Huntingford in 1990, sold to Eric Byres in 2003, I think.
We live on Degnen Bay, Gabriola Island. Give us a call if you get this message!

Eric Byers sold Kydaka within the year, I believe she is moored at the FCYC these days, but haven't seen her out much.

We have met, btw, we used to own Phantom, a Choate 40 - we rafted with you one night several summers back at Ganges. I'm assuming you're enjoying retirement!?

Great to hear from you, and yes I do remember our meeting and rafting in Ganges. It looks like you don't have Phantom any more...are you still boating?
You bet we are enjoying retirement and life here on Gabriola. We now have a 1965 Monk designed 25 ft power boat, under restoration at the moment!
I knew that Eric sold Kydaka (he was doing a major home reno). I believe the new owner is Dana Peterson, a member of FCYC, but I have yet to meet him.
