C&C sold......
While at the local dealer, they said C&C had been sold to Waterline inc, the company that makes J-boats, Aileron express and True North power boats........

The new 101 and older 115 design would stay with Tartan as a Tartan 101 and 115. So that means C&C should have ALL NEW designs coming out........

I am sure more to come out on this.........

Re: C&C sold......
Aileron Express and J-Boats are built by three different companies in Rhode Island.
True North power boats are built in Mississauga Ontario and Waterline Yachts Incorporated is a small steel boat builder here in Sidney, B.C.
I have looked but I have been unable to determine if this corporate transaction is true.
There is no mention of this news on any of these manufacturer's websites, including C&C's website.
Marty, have you any more information on this huge news about C&C Yachts?

Re: C&C sold......
C&C Yachts has been sold to a company called US Watercraft in Warren Rhode Is.
They have exclusive rights to "all" of the new Tartan/C&C designs and will be starting production soon in a new facility in RI.
US Watercraft has also purchased J-Boat, Aileron Express and True North and North Rip Powerboats in December of last year from Pearson Marine Group. They also have exclusive rights to the Farr 30 and 40 footers.
These transactions have nothing to do with Waterline Yachts Inc.

Re: C&C sold......
Does this mean that Tartan went with the C&C brand? That would be a shame.

Re: C&C sold......
OK, so I have the wrong "water________ boat/yachts" I only have a brain electron, so remembering things from and hour or two ago is on the froggy side of things.

I was told Tartan remains separate from the deal, or so I thought......C&C was sold and will build new boats all together. The Newish C&C 101 and the older 115 will become tartan branded.

This info may be like really new and breaking in the last 24-48 hrs of a week or so old......hence why nothing is on the web sites etc. I heard this at the local dealer for tartan/C&C.

Re: C&C sold......
I just got an email from Tartan regarding this and Tartan will still exist as Tartan Yachts.
They have sold the rights to C&C Yachts but Tartan will still build the 101 and 115 according to the methods they have employed since it's design. The rights for all models are US Watercraft's.
Tartan will continue to support the C&C's that they have built.
No word on any new designs from US Watercraft.

Re: C&C sold......
Good; i find it hard to believe that this new corp would hold to the standard that tartan has held to for the last 10 years or more. Unfortunate for C&C. Yet traded again. I guess we will see....

Re: C&C sold......
I would think a new C&C design from US Watercraft will be a few months away. Altho being as things like this take a few months to do, maybe USW has a design sketch or two from a leading designer to start marketing their line up sooner than later. I would find it hard to believe that they can have a hull in the water much sooner than 6-9 months down the road. UNLESS, they rebadge another hull they already own or equal.

The dealer I was at was not surprised of the news. As C&C try's/tried to recently sell their boats as racers, how many will spend $300K for a 115 that is not sailing easily to its ratings. Or at least locally they do not do well, where as at least with a J-boat, they do sail to ratings per say.

Re: C&C sold......
With new production techniques these guys can pump out a new boat within 6-9 weeks. That new hunter 40 is an example. (it shows)

Re: C&C sold......
I suppose it is possible. The new Jeanneau SF 3600 took at least 3-5 months, from initial announcement, to molds being made, to a boat in the water with in the last day or two. Once a mold is built, then I could see 6-9 weeks depending upon the size etc from initial prep wax to the mold, to in the water ready to sail.
