Tartan 3700 year 2000 OK?

Advice needed! I'm looking at a 2000 Tartan 3700, with an engine from 2002 (not sure why engine was replaced so early on), seemingly in excellent shape. I've been reading of the Tartan hull problems, but these seem to be 2002 - 2005 or so. Is 2000 early enough to have escaped this potential design flaw? Are the 3700s still carrying such a burden of bad design/press from that that I'll have trouble reselling it later? This one also had a transmission replacement...should I be worried in advance about the engine, or just wait to see what turns up on the survey?

This article explains the problem that occurred with the 37 failure. which may well have been a one-off error or a limited number of boats

The resulting publicity severely affected Tartan.

There are lots of other boats out there! I would avoid no matter how big the discount.
