what to do after you buy a boat
where one buys a boat requires consideration because right now, the north east weather is not very good for sailing.
consider buying the cruising sailboat of your dreams in sunny florida. spend a few days getting it ready- buy food, fill water tanks, check sails, make sure every system is working, and then sail off to the Bahamams. wow, yes, check the weather, check the charts and go! One can do it entirely in day light. Spend a couple of weeks, then sail back to say, Georgia. can you stay? maybe go to work for a month and come back in time to catch a Spring sail up the coast to Annapolis, or beyond Its easier then one thinks, there are even folks around looking to crew such sails. People say florida is not the best place to sell a sailboat, particularly a classic but actually this time of year promises good sailing weather months ahead of the rest of the eastern seaboard, and slick routes to sail across the golf steam.
