Hey Everybody,

I am an MBA student working on consulting project with an international market research group. I have a 10 minute survey designed to examine the luxury watch market and the relative strengths of its players. If you have time, please click the link below. This isn''t spam or anything like that. This is also more than some class project since the venture capitalist funding this project will be making real decision based on its findings. Thanks for your time.

KP

I too found it interesting that he apparently thinks we''re all loaded. I actually went to the site and opened up the survey. The first thing you see is a photo of a $5,000 Rolex and a set of multiple choice questions about your likelihood of buying the watch. After I stopped laughing, I logged out.

And really in truly wouldn''t we all prefer to be sailing without any concept of time...I''d rather not have a watch at all and just wake up on the water to another day of hours filled with bliss. That would be all about time that I would care to know.

Good point, Kokopuff. I went to the website for grins and didn''t find my favorite watch listed -- Casio Sea Pathfinder. Bought it from Walmart. It has neat tide and moon functions -- totally missing from those expensive models. Imagine! Of course, I didn''t expect to find a Casio listed either!

If

"This isn''t spam or anything like that. This is also more than some class project since the venture capitalist funding this project will be making real decision based on its findings. "

Then maybe they can spend some real money on a real survey and have it analyzed by a real statistician to reach real findings...on which they can make a real decision.

really...the validity of any sample opinion/population you''ll get on any message board isn''t worth zip. If your venture capitalists think otherwise they are more gamblers & less investors.

What watch? Since we retired and began cruising there are two things my husband has abandoned ... 1. his watch and 2. the cell phone
Cruising life means no watch, no phone, no weather channel (just the weather fax or the weather buoys for a passage). When visiting a particular area for a while you look outside...if it''s raining you''re gonna get wet; if it''s sunny you''re gonna get more tanning. And Caribbean time is just a general timeframe..minutes and hours don''t count. As a matter of fact, days don''t really count either.

$5,000 for a watch or 5 boat dollars...uh, no question..it goes to the boat (as always).

It sounds like you do not believe in navagating in any manner other than by your GPS and line of sight. Some us still believe in using traditional navigation and piloting skills and for that you need a good stop watch and a very accurate clock, whether you wear it is on your wrist or not. (You may then elect to leave them in a drawer when you are in port.)

This is a ploy to sell the American Eagle watch. I took a little more than half (they have a progress bar) of the survey to see what it was about and no matter what you answered, as I answered one question about the American Eagle saying that I had no interest in that watch and they came back a couple of questions later saying that I had expressed interest in that watch. The questions from then on were about the American Eagle with inqueries as to weather I would be interested if the price was $1000.00. I bailed out at that point maybe if I had kept on the price would come down farther, who knows $19.95???

Beware it''s a ploy.
