Pearson vs Seafarer - 30 ft sloop

I have the option to either purchase a Pearson or a Seafarer. Both 1974 30ft sloops
in about the same condition for the same price. Which boat has a better reputation?

go for the pearson. We have a 1978 and she is a great boat. Quick to heel to about 10 degrees but tough after that. And when someone ask you what you sail, you can say "i sail a pearson 30" with pride

With out a doubt buy the Seafarer. It is a stiff and very stable well manered and well made boat.It was designed by Mc Curdy and Rhodes. They were all hand built, not cookie cutter boats. I have three boats at this point and my seafarer is unquestionably the best sailor of the three.
The Pearsons a good boat but a little tender for me.
Which ever boat you purchase make sure to get a survey. No boat is perfect.
