Surveyor Recommendation for Connecticut?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a surveyor in Connecticut (or steer us clear of someone if you had a negative experience). Thanks in advance.

I've used him. Very thorough and professional. Google him

Barnaby Blatch Atlantic Marine Surveyors Atlantic Marine Survey, Connecticut and Rhode Island, USA - Barnaby Blatch SAMS® AMS®, NAMS® CMS did my last boat and did a very through job.

As usual, arrange a separate engine survey and rig survey. FWIW I skipped the rig survey last summer, and to prove this point, am now replacing the standing rigging on my own dime.

Re: Surveyor Recommendation for Connecticut?

Once again, let me put in a plug for captainrated.com. This site is brought to you from the same folks that created ActiveCaptain, and is a crowdsourced repository for experience with brokers and surveyors. Membership is required (to assure accountability), but they do not spam you, and it is free.

If you use the service, pay it back by providing a review of the surveyor that you use... You might even let the surveyor know that you found him through CaptainRated, so that he will draw the inference that you will rate his performance.

I will second Barnaby.

I used him in 2006 for my O'day and again last October for my C&C. He went up the rig on the O'day, figured out the plumbing on the C&C, and did a great job.
