Boat Buying Recommendation

Fellow sailors, I need help finding a small sailboat (up to 16'') capable in fresh/salt water, beachable and hold up to 4 people. Looking into the Lido14 or something very similar for daysailing/weekend racing on the lake and the Chesapeake Bay. As for budget, I reckon up to $2,000 (doesn''t have to be perfect). Any recommendations?

First, find out what one-design classes are racing in your area. Pick from among those classes. Much more fun than handicap racing; if you''re first across the line, you won!

Thank you sir! I checked out www.cbyra.org (Chesapeake Bay) and found a whole list - I chose the Flying Scot. Thanks owenmccall.
