Request boat comparison information on 4 boats

Hi Frank,

We have an Aloha 30 based in Vancouver, B.C. that we are considering selling. We would also consider trading for a smaller boat for the right boat. Let me know if you wish to discuss. Thanks,

sue

Sue, I would be very interested in talking with you about your Aloha 30, if it is in good condition--ie. no blisters/osmosis, no crazing/cracks in the gelcoat, sails in good condition, reasonably low engine hours, interior in good condition.
I have a pristine San Juan 23, Mark II (tall rig, fin keel--very rare version, as most are swing keel). My san juan is frequently mistaken for a new boat, and is the envy of most of the members in our sailing club--looks great and wins races. I am looking for the larger boat for on the coast, and would be willing to trade as part of the agreement. I can be reached by e-mail at: flanger@cha.ab.ca or by phone: 1-780-459-9354 (home) or 1-780-735-0090 (work). I''m not sure how to contact you directly, but will do so if you let me know how to do this.
Thanks for your reply.
Frank Langer

I''m considering the purchase of a 1978 46'' Durbeck Ketch currently in Tortola BVI. Boat will be used primarily for short term cruising the Western Caribbean, Central America with no plans for any offshore passages. Any advice or comments regarding this builder would be most appreciated.

If you are serious about the boats you listed, then you definitely owe it to yourself to have a real close look at the Dufour 40.

I fell in love with this boat and hope to own one some day. It has the build quality, design, construction technique, interior layout (which is beautifully finished), safety and performance all in one nice package. There are also several layout options enabling you to semi-customize the boat.

All lines on this boat donít just go to the cockpit; they go to about a half arms reach of the helm. Look up single handed sailing in the dictionary and you should find this boat.

There was one at the Chicago Sail show last week priced under 300K. They build a 44 as well that looks very attractive.

Cheers,
Steve

AHOY Frank

Also consider the Aloha 34. They are sweet boats also. I live in Ontario, Canada so I don't know about their availability in the West Coast. Here they aren't cheap! Also you might want to check out Tartan,Sabre and even a C&C! Also the Ontario 32 is a sturdy boat with a very loyal following. The Niagara 35 are great but expensive!!!!
Good luck with your search, Allan
