Celestial 44 questions

My wife and I are shopping for offshore boats, and are looking at a Celestial 44, but have had trouble finding much specific information. Things we wonder about include:

- who is the designer?

- what yard in Thailand made them (mid-80s) and what is the reputation of that yard?

- is the hull solid FG, cored, or some of both?

- how sturdy is the construction, both hull and hardware?

- the one layout we have seen is in a charter boat, and has double aft staterooms; is this standard?

- how is the sailing performance relative to other similar boats (e.g., Kelly-Petersen)?

There are obviously a host of other questions, and we welcome any thoughts and experiences from people with experience with the baot.
