Seafarer info

Anyone have information on Seafarer? Is it a well built boat? Good for open water sailing? I am looking at buying a 1979 30'' Seafarer and was hoping for some advice....

You might want to check out this link

Also join the Seafarer E-mail list here at Sailnet. I briefly toyed with the idea of a 79 Seafarer 30 also, but the one I was looking at was more of a project than I was capable of handling.

I just bought a Seafarer built in 1975 after spending 6 months reading and researching sailboats. Everything I have read from dozens of sources state that is is a comfortable boat for sailing and self-assured in rough weather. Amazon.com has a book for sale on the seafarer boats. This is a book on my boat called The little boat that could." I will spend the rest of this summer and next bringing my boat back to mint condition if that is possible, and it will be a task of love. I will be sailing the Potomac mostly this summer in the Jaded Dolphin.

Hello, Just ran across your post. Would you be willing to share how your work has progressed on your Seafarer? Seems that information on the older Seafarers is hard to come by.
I have just been made aware of a 36 C, Ketch which is available. From the Pics, it looks to be almost completely restored. I would very interested in what you have run into as your restoration has taken shape over the summer.
Thanks in advance!

JadedDolphin-

Just be aware that reviving dead threads, particularly ones that are six years old, is generally considered an internet faux pas... and you probably should have started a new thread.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
