Why would anyone want to sail a Lido 14 without the jib?
Perhaps if you just purchased it and are new to sailing. It's going to sail terribly without the jib!
You can sail it single-handed with the jib. I've done it frequently in light to moderate winds. (I wouldn't advise it in strong or gusty winds.) It's actually a lot of fun. Tiller in one hand, main sheet in the other and the jib sheet in your teeth. (I also wouldn't advise this for people with false teeth.)
I owned #1313 in the 1960's. The best number in the fleet.
