''87 Ericson 32 vs. ''84 Pearson 34

I am a relatively new sailor, and am looking at purchasing a used sailboat. I have seen a very clean Ericson 32 and a nice Pearson 34 with a shoal draft. What are the pros and cons of each boat? I sail out of San Diego where a shoal draft isn''t required. I plan to be a coastal cruiser and stay on the boat on weekends...often with my wife and two small children. Any comments or recommendations?

I own a 77 ericson 32 that I sail on Lake Michigan. This is my fourth boat and I''ve owned it for 4 years. I can tell you that it''s been a very stiff, well built boat. Pearson''s are also very good boats but unless you need the shoal draft, a fin keen gives more peace of mind.
