coronado 32 out cheoy lee 35 in?

Thanks for your advice regarding boat purchase. It is nerve racking for a novice to say the least. We went on a test sail with the Coronado 32 and it is a lovely boat, kept in perfect condition, but it didn't sail as I would like.

Could someone tell me the difference between a cruiser, and racer cruiser? Also the difference between blue water and coastal cruisers?

Also, what is your opinion of a 35 Cheoy lee? What category does it fit into? How will it sail? Again, I live in San Diego and will be sailing off the coast, to Catalina, and maybe more?

If all you are going to do is sail to the island, a Coronado will do the job as will pretty much any boat. Cheoy Lees are better built, but did suffer blister problems for a number of years. You would have to find out which years were the bad ones. Jeff H is a good source for that.

If you are not happy with the performance of the Coronada don't buy it as there are many boats out there besides these two that will fit your needs. Take your time and enjoy shopping.
