Know what boat this is?

I ran across these photos in an old forum. I've never seen the boat before and can't find any related pics on the web. Does anyone know what boat this is?

Can you make out that name/marking on the port quarter?

Looks to be a 21ish foot something or other, that name may be helpful..

I was thinking it was a Newport/Capital Yachts...but it seems there might be some name plate/logo on the aft quarter????

Oh, thats a good guess. That name plate, if it's a name plate, could start with a J. I don't think the windows are just right for a San Juan 21, but maybe something else by San Juan??????

My first thought too, but the windows are wrong..

I can almost convince myself the builder's mark says 'Jouet'.. they made a lot of boats over the years that would be relatively rare in N.A. - but there's no saying where that pic was taken though it looks like a Georgia registration number.

Sailboatdata lists a lot of 20-something Jouets but very few images.

Re: Know what boat this is?

I had searched google images for Jouet 22 and found some similar, but newer looking designs. Maybe this is one that was limited in production or never made it into production?

Re: Know what boat this is?

It'll be a late 60s/70s design, Jouet goes back further than that. I think they were quite popular in France in their day.

Still speculation, though, if that really is what the builder's mark says.

Re: Know what boat this is?

I don't have a higher resolution than what I posted here. So I can't see the name any better than anyone else. I wasn't sure whether to take the first letter as a T, F, or a J. I can convince myself that it is ending in 'ft' and it could be an 'a' before that. So it might be 'craft' as an ending to a longer word. ...but I'm mostly guessing. Any web hunting on these kinds of terms haven't got me any closer to finding the boat though.
