I have been researching new and used boats in the 33'' to 36'' range. The new C&C boat specifications suggest great performance. Does anyone have experience with the build quality? I know that they are manufactured by the same company that builds Tartan yachts.
Actually, they have not been delivering on their promise of great performance. There was a pretty long thread on them last year that you might look for. The conclusion was that for the dollars; the Beneteau 36.7 and 40.7 and Farr 395 offered far better preformance and that the 395 was clearly better constructed. If you were more concerned with cruising comforts the Dehler 39 and 36''s were good options.
I hope the new C&C''s catch on for sentimental reasons however I looked at both the 36'' and a bigger one and did not really like them. I am sure that Jeff is right on the performance and from what I saw at the boat shows I would not select one.
