Finding the right boat

I have posted before with some good response. SO I will try again....

I am looking for a 27 foot sailboat that I can day sail and cruise for 3-5 days. I will be taking additional sailing classes in September, but hope to have my own boat by next season. Are there rating on boats that are not likely to capsize? This may sound funny, but it is part of my research.

I just lost out on a Pearson 27, It was stolen right out from under me.

Any ideas will help... this is my first boat and want a successful start.

You might keep an eye out for a Pearson 28-2. Very nice boat, sails well. Unless, you don't want anything bigger than a 27.
