Thoughts on Hylas 46 Please

Looking at purchasing a 46' Hylas, 10 years or younger. Plan to spend cruising Bahamas etc.. maybe Pacific at later date. We like the layout and quality, but is it worth the average $300k, does it sail well (shoal draft) and any general concerns or problems?

Thank you very much for all thoughts.

doug...They are great boats to go cruising on and very well built. The only concern I would have is that MOST of these were built and used in charter and may have some heavy engine hours and general abuse/groundings from charterers so you'll want a very good and thorough survey along with mechanical inspection. The shoal draft is a good SAIL boat too. If you like the Hylas...look at the TayanaCC's on the market too as they are boats with similar build quality as the Hylas and the features you like.

Thank you and your correct, it spent the first 7 of its 11 years in charter (CYS) and the engine has 5700 hours on the Yanmar. I will check out the TayanaCCs. Thanks again.
