For sale

I have a 1987 J37 for sale for $98K. Great condition in R.I. Where is the best place to sell it?

Are you going to be selling it yourself, or via a broker. YBW, Craigslist, E-bay are all possibilities. Points East, the magazine, is also a pretty good choice.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

There was a fellow looking to buy a J-40 or J-37 on this forum about a month ago. You might try a search.

That was LyleRussell and specifically he wanted a J-37C. In his later postings he seemed to be headed for a J-40 anyway.

I'm the guy looking for a mid sized cruising J. I just found Harborman's boat a couple of minutes ago on Boatquest. She looks good though the spex on Boatquest are rather thin. Also I am on my way up to Rhode Island Sat AM to look at a J-40. Harborman if you don't mind I'll call you tomorrow (Friday) and set up a visit this weekend?

If the marina allows it, don't forget the obvious. A neat plastic "FOR SALE" sign on the bow with a phone number. Sometimes, the folks who see the boat and are impressed by it are also LOOKING for just such a boat.

If not and Lyle doesn't take it home you might think of Yachtworld or a broker, since buying tends to be slow at the end of season in RI and then, it sits and you pay ard bills till the spring.
