42' Cartwright

Hello,
I am looking at a 42' Cartwright sailboat to purchase. I have looked online and have been unable to find out any information on this make of boat. If anyone can tell me anything regarding the quality etc, it would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Dustin

Re Cartwright 42

Dustin, if you still have any questions or interest, please give me a call. I have a wealth of information to share about Jerry Cartwright and the boats he designed.

There was one in my old marina I think they have a low coach roof or none at all designed for off shore The reputation is a strong boat not many built.

There's one on YW, back east... is that the one? She looks like a well-executed owner finished example. Solid looking boat, with all the full-keeler downsides and possible frustration for local BC cruising given our generally lighter summer winds in the popular cruising areas.

Not a boat type I'd consider for our area personally, but your plans may go beyond that.

Cartwright 42

I own a Cartwright 42. I also have very little information. They are a great boat, very well constructed. Built for offshore single handed. Our boat sails at about 7.4kn in 12knts of wind. We love this boat and are very glad to have her as we will be leaving for offshore this Aug.

Cartwright

We have a Cartwright 44 built by Peter karadi in Whitby, Ontario Canada. We have owned her for 10 years and sailed around the world currently in Honduras. Not sure if it's the same design even - she is a cutter rig, modified fin, skeg rudder. What a boat.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Cheers

I am currently researching info for a Cartwright 34 I am thinking to buy in the UK. There's little available information on this design but I came across one of your posts on the forum so was wondering if you have any knowledge you could share. I undertand this one was built in 1982 by Peter Karadi in Ontario.

Many thanks for any advice.

Best regards,

Mike
