sailway is on a distinguished road
how are these yachts??

Hi everyone,

We are hoping to go offshore around december of this year and are in the market for a new boat. Now my question is, have any of you folks had experience with the Northwind sailboats. When searching the web I found only a couple of them for sale in the U.S.

All i know about them is that they are made in spain and designed by sparkman & stephens which in looking at their other boats such as the stephens 47 and the hylas series which is identical, makes me belive that they are probably built to the same standards. But i would really like to hear from people that have either owned one or had experience sailing them. And any other info would be appreciated.

thank you for your time
Jeremy

These are nice boats with a good reputation. I would compare contruction more to a Moody than a Hylas as they have a more "Euro" flair than Taiwan "solidity". Newer models use fully cored hull which I am not a fan of for bluewater...but some will disagree on that. S&S designs are some of my favorites too, but you really have to focus on the builder as there big differences between yards.
