Annapolis Area Assistance

About 6 weeks ago we looked at a Catalina 380 at Jabin's Yard listed by "AYS". There was standing water in the aft head & 4"-6" of water in the bilge. I talked to the listing agent at the Sailboat Show & he said he was not aware of any leaks. Curious if anyone has had a look at the boat recently or could stop by to have a look in the bilge. The boat is on my "short list" for purchase in the spring, but I would rather not have water in the bilge freezing & thawing over the winter.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Annapolis Area Assistance

I can help you but the easiest thing would be to have AYS send someone down to take pictures and send them to you.

Re: Annapolis Area Assistance

Aus,
Thank You for the great idea! I spoke with the listing broker & found out that we were the first to spot the water leak. It turns out that the jib car track was leaking & has been rebed. But that brings up another concern - wet core...always something. Anyway, pics are on the way.
Thanks again,
Mike

Re: Annapolis Area Assistance

Glad my thoughts could help.

Pictures are good.

If you would like I can go look at the boat after the next heavy rain - I'll just need the name of the boat, the listing broker, and if you have it the slot number (Jabins numbers all their slots on the hard) for the boat.

Whether wet core is an issue depends on how the track was originally installed and how the rebedding was done.
