Tartan 34C

Looking at a Tartan 34C for use cruising Florida & the Keys - would any owners have advice on things to look for and questions to ask?

How about comparisons to the Morgan 34?

Tartan 34C

Hey Milley:
Bought my Tartan 34C (Hull #118) a few years ago and continue to fall in love with her. Great sailing, great lines, well appointed, great network of owners.

Check the rudder for excessive play and the centerboard for leaks I''m still living with the slow drip into my C/B trunk.

There''s a ftp site at sailnet.com with owner photos. There''s some beauts there. Mine is there under "Running Late."

Good luck.

Colin

Tartan 34C

The 34C is a classy boat. My decision was to go for a Tartan 33 with scheel keel for the same cruising purpose (about 4''8" draft
with moderate load). Its waterline length is good and you should make 6-8 kts. And I
agree the Tartan support group is VERY good.
But as with any manufacturer, some where built better than others.
