Finnsailer 29

Does anyone have any info on these boats? I checked one out locally, and it seems superb for a livaboard; I've never seen so much space and storage on such a small boat. They were made in Finland and touted as being "Built for the North Sea", and I know the original design was created after consulting with local fishermen. Apparently the molds were bought out by Nauticat and used for her earlier models. But looking for info on the web I found nothing that wasn't in Finnish! There are annual rendezvous and such, but again the websites aren't in English. I'm interested to know her seaworthiness, sailing qualities, and suitability for sailing up the BC coast to Alaska. Is she Blue water capable? Double ended, full keeled and heavy, but awfully tall, and really considered a motorsailer. An enourmous amount of boat for the price, it seems.

Sorry that I can't be of help. I posted a similar request for general information in the general discussion and got no bites.

SPC - Welcome to Sailnet but ummm, you might want to check the date of the thread you are responding too.

Actually, I wanted to post a question but a member must have something like 5 contributions before they can post a question. That was probably not my worst post. I did want to ask about a Finnsailer and I thought that it might move the issue forward. Apparently not.

I very much like the Nauticat and wondered if a Finnsailer would be similar in terms of build standards but the only one for sale is too far away to see on the off chance that it might be a great buy.
