Looking for information about a Cape Dory

Hello, I was wondering if any sailors out there had any information about the Cape Dory Intrepid line of boats. I am looking at a 1978 28 foot Intrepid and have not been able to find that much information about them online. Does anybody know of any major strengths or weaknesses for these boats? I would appreciate any input, especially what to keep an eye out for when looking at one.
Thanks!
Paul

Probably want to try contacting the Cape Dory Sailboat Owners Association at www.capedory.org.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

They are great boats!! Cape Dorys in general are very well made. The only real flaw I can think of is that some of the Cape Dorys have deck-mounted masts, which can be an issue after years of use... Other than that...go for it.

some also have blister probs. with them. it's an Alberg design as i think most or all were. rugged, fairly well finished and pretty good performers.
