Gulfstar Gelcoat cracks

Recently, I looked at a 37'' Gulfstar sloop (1976), which I like very much. This particular boat has severe gelcoat crazing throught the entire deck. This is not just the regular "spider webs" you normally get on a boat of this vintage. Many of these are very deep. Does anyone know if this is a "normal" problem with Gulfstars, or isolated to this particular vessel?
