Talking I got mine!!

Today, the broker called to tell me the owner took my offer. Dag, I must have left some money on the table.

I am now the proud owner of In A Mist, a Cape Dory 28! I turned in my notice today at a job of 9 years. I am headed to Saginaw Bay, MI. There I have some clean up and get ready work. Then some shakedowns to get my sea legs back. And making sure she has what she needs.

And then. . . . I'm on my way!!! Erie/Hudson/Atlantic and points south in Late Summer/Early Fall hopefully!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Giu,
"turned in my notice" means he told his employer; "i quit..i'm going sailing"
or as johnny paycheck sang..."take this job and shove it"
colloquialisms and all...

By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest, second is by imitation, which is easiest, third is by experience, which is the bitterest.

Shiver the timbers! Yer nibnubs'll be numb before your vacation pay is used up! Are you really heading out so early in March? And with St Patrick's Day nearly upon you?

Congratulations on the new rig, the Cape Dory's a handsome way to go somewhere, may all your miles be smiling.

Hey CD...if the guy had bought a Catalina...the above poster would have said:

"may all your miles be forward"

Just joking....
