The parts to do what the broker suggests would cost you 28K minimum. That's in the US. Getting them in or to the islands is going to add some $$. Looking at the pics, there are a few things he didn't mention. I will almost guarantee you, that if you were to buy this boat and refit her, you'll top out over 100K by the time you factor in haul-out, storage, small stuff like sandpaper and bigger stuff like table saws, routers, etc. Also - I think it's a minimum of 6 months and probably closer to 12 before you'd be done...

So take that 100K and buy something that is in way better shape !

It depends on how much you can do yourself. A Union 36 skipper talks about roughly 10 days to remove and replace the teak decks. Of course that depends on what you find underneath. If you can do most things yourself that would save a great deal. Of course you don't know exactly what else is required, but then you never do entirely and bringing the thing to the specs you require may cost disproportionately ie new gear costs the same in many instances regardless of initial price.
