Halberg Mistral

OK, so other than the obvious pitfalls (teak decks, wood EVERYWHERE), does anyone know about these boats? Sure is a pretty boat, which in my book goes a long way.

I like the Mistral. I was looking at one a few years ago with a friend of mine. She ended up opting for a boat with less teak, as she's not into varnishing. ;)

That's what is killing me here. It's a gorgeous boat, but you'd go through barrels of varnish every season.

Got an email from the broker this morning - the owner is "looking for offers", if anyone is interested. It's a fine boat, just needs more attention than I can offer right now.

The wood looks like it is not in good shape inside - too many dings and scratches... beautiful but not too practical unless you're retired and like replacing things..

But if the boat is otherwise sound, and you can find the time to touch up on everything, you'll end up with the best-looking boat in the marina & you can take it everywhere. I admit though that I'm a big fan of Olle Enderlein constructions. If you could get it at a real low price now and are able to do most of the woodwork yourself, it could be a great deal? Just be really nasty to the broker/PO, what is the worst that can happen?

Hi Do you still have your Mistral. If so would like to hear about hydraulic steering issues. Thanks paul

Try looking at the Cannell and Payne Camden Me. web site. They have some nice traditional boats.
