I was looking to purchase a new boat with OSSA POWERLITE® technology has anyone had any experience with this new technology?

Diesel Electric power has been around since the 40's. It is the driving force in all diesel train engines. It also propells most USCG Buoy Tenders. It works great and eliminates all transmissions and (reverse) gears.

Anyone have seen any pricing information on the OSSA Powerlite system or similar as aftermarket? Wondering how the price compares to a genset, new diesel,etc.

Nice! Very clean looking piece of hardware. Pretty spendy considering the other parts needed.

I like that the OSSA system is fully integrated, though I suppose that comes at an even greater cost.

I am working with a boat manufacturer in getting prices on this new technology. I like the idea of running all systems off one generator. This system is pricey but maybe worth it!

Then the single generator is a single point of failure...not such a good idea on a small boat... you could lose your ability motor and all your electronics and ability to call for help...

The new boat I was considering was 42 LOA and OSSA POWERLITE® said power failure is not going to happen. This is my big concern! Spoke to Valiant and they are unsure of technology. Saga Yachts president advised me his next boat will have this system. He believes in it! I need bigger boat.
