partnership with a twist

I''ve read the archives here so I know partnerships for owning a sailboat are much discussed, however they all seem to be for people in the same area that want the boat on alternate weekends or something. I''m interested in finding 2 (or 3) others who want to buy a 38'' beneteau or similar, 10years old but in great shape, but to DIVIDE THE TIME UP IN LONG-TERM CHUNKS.

I want the boat for 3-4 months in the winter, in south Florida/Carribbean. The other owners can have it in the spring/summer/fall farther up the east coast. Delivering the boat between partners would be detailed in the partnership agreement.

I figure the finances are something like this:

initial purchase ~60k

Annually:

depreciation: 5k
insurance: 2k
maintenance: 6k
lost opp. costs: 4k
TOTAL: 17k

I figure having a boat for 3-4 months a year for 17/3 = 6k is a helluva deal.

Notice that dockage is not included - this will be the responsibility of each partner.

Comments? Anyone interested?
