TMI or Ticon 30

Is anyone familiar with this boat? I believe it was built as a Chrysler 30 before Chrysler got out of the marine business, then as TMI, then the molds went to Canada where it was built as the Ticon 30. I am looking at buying one and wondering what your thoughts are regarding this boat.
Thanks.

Hello John,
The Chrysler 30 never actually went into production. It was slated to go into production in 1980, the year that Uncle Sam made them sell off the only part of the company that was making money. I don''t believe that Wellcraft got the molds for this particular boat in there buy out. If i''m not mistaken Ticon bought these direct and started production immediately. The design was by Halsey Hershoff and it''s an awesome design to look at.
You might want to look at the Chrysler Sailing Ass. website. This is very informative site, they have one page dedicated to the history of Chrysler Sailing.
For what it''s worth i have never meet a Chrysler owner that wasn''t head over heals in love with his boat. Mind you this is a bias opinion as i am a former Chrysler owner and if i could have found a Ticon 30 localy and in good shape when i bought my existing boat i would have snapped it up.
Good luck
Dirt
