I''d like to install an Autopilot (ST 1000/2000 by Rayethon) in my 28'' Sail boat.

Any comments or recommendations, based on real experience with these?

I have a bran new st 2000 still in the box I got it at xmas and ended up selling the boat I also have a remote for it. I will sell it for 75 less than thay go for.

An Autohelm ST2000 tillerpilot on our previous Beneteau First 325 performed flawlessly for 14 years.

The ST1000/2000 are on the displacement borderline for most 28''s. Recommend the 2000, it has performed very nicely on our Islander 28.

I know that I should not revive a dead post but since I am new I can't PM Rich directly so I thought I would give this a shot, I apologize in advance.

I have an Islander 28 and I am about to install the ST2000 and I am wondering if there are any tips I should know or if there is a need to purchase any additional items such as an extender for the install.

Again, sorry for reviving this thread and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
