Feedback on Hunter 37?

Am considering purchasing at 1982 37' Hunter Cutter. Anyone have specific comments about this boat? Pros? Cons? If I get this boat, is there anythin I should focus on with the survey? This boat will be mainly a bay and coastal boat, probably down to the islands at some point. Not anticipating serious blue water cruising.

Thanks!
Max

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

The Cherubini-designed Hunters are pretty well thought of, far better than the other Hunters of the same vintage.

I own an 81' Hunter Cutter and love it. She is a seaworthy boat with a comfortable cabin, she's not a racing boat but has a good turn of speed in 10 or more knots of wind. Two problem areas are leaking ports and leaking holding tanks if originals are still installed on the boat. In my opinion, it's a hard boat to beat for the money.

Thanks for the tips, Fred. The boat I'm looking at has replaced ports, but I'll keep in mind the holding tank. That's a smelly proposition I want to avoid!

Thanks!
