Pacific Seacraft 37 Opinions

This is a request to Pacific Seacraft 37 owners.

I hope this is not a subject that has been asked way to often but -

I sailed from a very young age until about 15 - 17 years ago. I stopped because my wife did not like to sail. For reasons that I will not go into here, I am going back to sailing and owning a boat and do I have a lot to re-learn - wow!

In the early days of the PSC 37 I fell in love with it but it was completely out of my budget. Now that I am getting closer to real retirement I only want to buy one more boat so I want to be sure that it is the right one.

When I was younger I did a lot of racing so I know that it is way more work than I want to do so a "go fast" boat is not being considered. Comfort and safty are the critical issues now. I want a boat that I can live aboard and cruse the US, Carribian, and probably farther away. I think something like a 10 to 12 year old PSC 37 is in my retirement budget so I have a few questions I would like to ask of PSC 37 owners.

1 - What do you like most about your PSC 37?
2 - What do you dislike most aobut your PSC 37?
3 - Would you buy another one?
4 - Do you find it comfortable as a live aboard for 1 (maybe) 2 people?
5 - Is it safe as a singlehander if set up correctly?

About all I can say is that the 37 was inducted into the sailboat hall of fame. It''s a venerable older design, but still seems just as relevant today as when Bill Crealock drew its lines. Crealock designs boats to go to sea, so his designs have all things in moderation, and also are very traditional. For example, if you want lots of beam to maximize interior volume, his boats are not for you. He designs more for the open sea and not so much for being tied up in a slip.
