Need Some Help

My wife and I have been sailing the little boats for many many years, and want to finally own a starter boat that will get us more into cruising/day-sailing. There is a Hunter 23.5 with stiff keel for sale near us that seems to fit the bill. Anyone who knows of typical problems with these boats that I should look for or ask about would be great. Also other suggestions for beginner boats would be greatly appreciated.

It really depends on how you will be using the boat. Trailering, mooring, docking, etc.

But the Catalina 25 seems to be a popular first boat. My preference is the Cape Dory 25.

The Ranger series of sailboats are pretty good. S2 made several small boats that would fit the bill. The Cape Dory 25, the Pearson Ariel or Triton are both nice boats as well, but a bit bigger. Catalina had several boats in the 22/25 foot range.
