Just bought a Grampain 23

Well, just purchased a Grampain 23. Actually in okay shape for a 35 year old boat that has been out of the water for 2 years. Looks a tad grimy, but underneath that she seems pretty solid. A few things to do on her, but a solid project boat for the winter!

Good luck and post a picture in the spring.

Welcome aboard, sailor! Good luck with the project. Sounds/looks similar to the Helms 25 project I started earlier this summer. Consider documenting the changes via a blog and sharing it with us.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I will update as I go along. Since I am in Montreal, I have a few months to work on it before the winter so I hope to get a lot of the tedious stuff out of the way before the snow flies.

Now, about the rust on the keel.......

JUST KIDDING! There are 500 different points of view on how it should be taken care of; I really do not want to start that discussion again. I am sure if I serach the forums I will come across more conflicting info than I will ever want.
