Where in the world to buy a boat. Special Places.

Sailnet,
Where is the best place to buy a boat. I am not a rich man. From where I have been, I would think tampa Florida to be a place to buy a boat, also some the of the california coastal cities. But I have especially heard that down in the southern tip of Argentina is a great place to buy a boat cheaply because many people get down there and decide that they can not get around that part of the land, so they sell cheaply there. I was wondering, are there many other special places like this to buy a boat? How about other countries where the labor is cheap to build the boats, but construction isn't poor. Lists of cities with descriptions of reasons of why the cities are places to buy boats is what I am looking for. Is what I hear of the southern tip of Argentina true?
From,

Miami/Ft. Lauderdale are ports for broken dreams so lots of bargains there.
Also Trinidad is the end of many Caribe Cruises so lots of bargain boats there...but also hurricane boats.

Heard someone say the best place to buy a boat is Tahiti after the folks from the Baja HAHA who made the Pacific jump can't convince wives, girlfriends and crew to make the trip back across again.

Hawaii is also one of those places where dreams are lost.

Cam-

Florida has a lot of hurricane boats at the moment as well. :D Still a lot of boats that were salvaged from Katrina, Rita, etc that are showing up on the market.

Divorce lawyer's offices are also places where dreams are lost . . . and boats are bartered.

But wouldn't virtually all of these boats end up on one of the web sites anyway? Seems to me its almost (repeat almost) unnecessary to go snooping around for boats when so many are right there on the net.

what about repo sailboats?

Is there a place were they get auctioned?

What happens to those boats. I imagine that with this economy many would be defaulting on loans just as it happens with real estate.

Are there auctions arround the country selling this boats? or what happens to them?

E-bay is where boats that can't be sold anywhere else go.
