Anyone ever sat in the cabin of a boat and gotten a sore throat?

Probably have mold or mildew on the boat. Either can cause throat and lung irritation.

My bet is on it being the dreaded drip (post nasal) from any of a variety of allergens that you may have encountered in the boat or on your way to it or from it.

Yep. THat can do it, unless you are allergic to cedar or teak.

Go get a dehumidifier. Run it for as many hours as you can stand it. SPray down with lysol (a lot), then circulate that air. THen repeat with the dehumid.

It is not fool proof, but will help. Running an air conditioner constatly will eliminate mold/mildew, but many people do not want to pay that bill. You can also check your bilge to see what creatures are hiding in there.

Also, try hunting down any sources of water getting into the boat—as most leaks are going to be a problem in the long run, you might as well head them off before they do major damage while you can. My boat has a very dry bilge—any water that gets in is attributable to crew or captain error.
