We are in the process of making an offer on a 1979 morgan 382(which has been professionally re-rigged as a cutter). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I''ve had some experience with the Brewer 38x Morgans. I crewed on a couple over the years, and recently purchased hull #26 "Sail-La-Vie". These Morgans seem to be well built and are great under sail with a decent turn of speed. There''s a very active owners group on the web that would be worth reviewing for issues, opinions & various upgrade projects. Check out morgan38.org for lots of good info.

Good luck with your purchase plans...
Larry

I also own a 382, hull #165 in Norfolk, VA. In my opinion and that of others is these are good value boats. They are well built, reasonably comfortable living and cruising, balance well which means easy to handle. As previously mentioned in the post from Sail La Vie, there is a very active page for Morgan 38X series, I would highly recommend you check it out. We tell all the nasty and naked truth. :^)
