Cheoy Lee 36 Pedrick

Just did a search and could not find much on the Pedrick design of the Cheoy Lee 36. I am still looking for a liveaboard and one has recently come available in my area. I don't know much at all about this particular boat and can only find information on the older Cheoy Lees. I was wondering if I should begin considering this boat.

A little information would be appreciated.

Do you like the boat ? Is it in good condition ? Does it sail nicely ? Can you afford to buy it ? Can you afford to keep it ? If you answer yes to the above - then it is a good boat for you. If you answer no the the above - then it is not a good boat for you.

Thanks for the Replys. I did not see any information on the Pedrick 36 on the Website posted. I have not seen the boat yet, just gathering as much information as I can before I look. I have no idea if Cheoy Lees are considered poorly constructed boats or well constructed boats. I cannot post the link but it is a 1988 36' Cheoy Lee.

Were these later versions still built in Hong Kong? Is this a bad thing?

Is this model considered strictly a cruiser like the older versions?

Would you compare this boat to a mid 80s Bene Idylle 38ft?

I have found the basic information about LOA - 35' 7" ; LWL - 28' and change
16000lb; 5' 8" draft ; 11'10" beam

Sorry for the inexperience, I'm just trying to gather a strong base of information in order to make an educated decision on the boats I consider.

Try Jack Horner's review of the Pedrick 41. Obviously, this thread isn't about the 41, but you might glean some pieces of information. Here's the link: http://www.boatus.com/jackhornor/sai...ePedrick41.asp

Thanks for the help. I may steer clear of this one due to people telling me about the leaky teaky situation.
