buying a sailboat

My .02 rates the O''Day first, Catalina, then Hunter. The Hunter is not a super cruising boat. I would look at the Cal''s and Tartans as well. I think that the comment on sailing/docking, etc., is as a singlehander. If you are out with a decent crew, (2 people) and have experience, you will be fine right away. (I am assuming some day sailing while you shake down the boat) Best of luck.

Hey Tom,

I''d love to hear more about your experiences with your first boat being a 41''! Did you have NO sailing experience at all?

I''m a little nervous about doing this with most of my own sailing experience being on small boats. We are planning to go to one of those sailing schools in Florida this year, a week long type thing.
