Question Catalinas

Hi,
What do you think about 1982 Catalina 30T?
What are the downsides and upsides?
I'm thinking about purchasing one... What should I be aware of and what should I check carefully on that specific boat?
Thank you...
Mert

The engine sits way down low, just aft of the bilge. As a result, it has a tendency to experience more corrosion if a PO has been sailing around with sea water slopping around down there.

round my Yacht Club the C30 and C30 tallrigs are the cat's pajamas it seems! there are 4 C30s here and 2 of them are tallrigs. Even though i have an Oday30 I do like C30s. there is not much to dislike about them.. wide beam, space abounds below, great layout, big cockpit. Parts easy to obtain, lots of aftermaket gear too.

Fun and easy to sail. Great room below. The largest production ever?

BF,
I think it is in its size range. There might have been more C22s produced... They've been making C30s since 1975.

Denise,
I crewed on a friend's J24 last weekend, and saw an O'Day 30 in the cruiser class. First one I'd ever seen. VERY nice.

You may want to query owners directly about this boat. Web site is www.catalina30.com.
