Caliber 28
I am looking at an '83 Caliber 28 sloop. I am having trouble finding any information about the boat on the web and was hoping one of you might know something about this boat or be able to point me toward some resources.
Overall quality?
Tender/Stiff?
Hull prone to blisters?
The particular one I have inspected seems to have above average deck hardware and rigging quality. The deck is in very good condition with no signs of water intrusion. Chain plates show now leaks inside. The hull above the waterline also is in good condition.
The interior looks to be at bit leaky. Walls and headliner in fore cabin have visible water damage. The wooden floor beneath the companionway appears damp and somewhat delaminated over the bilge. The plywood box that surrounds the engine compartment also has water damage on starboard side along with the plywood engine bed/supports which look like they are delaminating somewhat as well. The deck to hull joint is inner facing with what look not to be stainless bolts on no less than a 6 inch center. These fasteners look to be smaller in diameter that some other boats I have seen. Much of the flange is hidden. No sings of leaks in the few areas I was able to view. Are these issues common on Calibers?
Thx.
