Freedom 40/40

Im looking for information on thsi model. I dont know much except for a few general reviews I have read. Where are they built and who designed them? They seem to cast them as a quality built boat but compared to what. Could someone give me some comparisons to other boats that may be of the same quality. The reviews said they are roomy but again without a comparison it is hard to get a better understanding..I know tankage seems a little light but hopefully that could be modified. I am also looking for specifications such as headroom, berth size, aspects of safety offshore etc etc..

Any information anyone has would be welcome or at least a redirection to a source of with more information....

This gives a little info on Freedom. In general the Freedoms are very well thought of. Appears the 40/40 was designed by Dave Pedric, a well respected designer. Is the boat you're looking at the one for sale in Mystic, CT?

There should be a Freedom email list here on Sailnet. Join that and ask your questions there. Good luck.

Thanks actually I have been looking at several them listed (mostly 90's models) Wasnt really aware of them but now have added them to our "consideration list" for our next boat. How do I access the email list for Freedom - sorry never utilized that feature before.

Near the top of the Sailnet home page click on Resources, then click on Email Lists. Find Freedom and join. It's easy.

I've always liked Freedoms, but not enough to cough up the money to buy one. They are good boats. Good luck.
