Others with more experience can provide better opinions than I regarding the necessity of a rigging survey.

If you do choose to get the rig inspected I would recommend Island Rigging & Hydraulics 340-774-6833. Get an appointment with Jay soon, as he is very busy and there is a good chance he will not be able to get there with such short notice. March 28-30 is the International Rolex Regatta on St Thomas and from now through May is a very busy time for riggers and sail lofts because of the Rolex and the BVI regatta the first week in April.
