Mark....I would be perfectly happy to never dock - but I'm sure we will have to spend some time ashore - shopping and dining.

Now I understand a bit better. The way it works is that you take a mooring and then take your dinghy onto the beach or the dinghy dock when you want to go on land. There are VERY few places with actual slips for boats that you will wish to visit.
If you must go in October...go at the end of the month.

June and July are pretty nice. Much less humid than where we lived in Virginia, and usually a nice breeze. Showers here and there, but brief, usually. Rates are lower, most places are open, less crowded. The Trades aren't as constant, so you may do a bit of motor-sailing.
